Illinois Attorney General Forces Village to Release Secret Meeting Tape After 9 Month Legal Battle C
LISLE, IL – After a nine month legal battle costing taxpayers thousands of dollars, Lisle Mayor Joe Broda was forced to release a portion of the June 6, 2016 secret meeting tape of the board violating the Open Meetings Act.
Mayoral candidate Chris Pecak released the following statement:
“An open and transparent government has nothing to hide, yet Mayor Broda has repeatedly led our village from behind closed doors,” said Pecak. “Spending thousands of taxpayer dollars to fight the Illinois Attorney General was a complete waste of village resources and further demonstrates the misguided priorities of the current board. Lisle residents deserve leadership they can trust, and leaders they can hold accountable.”
